Parent Coaching
One-on-one parent coaching can be useful for any parent or caregiver who needs support navigating their child’s unique needs. Parent coaching can help with common behavior issues, learning issues (ADHD, Executive Function Deficits, Sensory Disorders, etc.), and emotional regulation. Parent coaching can help foster effective communication between the parent and child and nurture and strengthen the parent-child connection. Parent coaching can provide support and understanding for the child’s unique needs and improve overall family functioning.
Our goal with one-on-one parent coaching is to help you:
- Manage your own feelings when dealing with your child's big emotions.
- Set up manageable, consistent routines.
- Foster healthy communication within your home.
- Familiarize yourself with age-appropriate expectations for your child's behavior.
- Set and hold consistent boundaries around homework, screen time, and chores.
- Build a supportive home environment that nurtures academic and personal growth.
Through one-on-one coaching, we assist parents in identifying and implementing practical strategies that support the unique developmental needs of their child. We also offer emotional support and coping strategies to parents. Our goal is to help parents feel supported and gain confidence in their parenting skills!
Parent Support Groups & Workshops
At Heartspace Counseling Center we understand the challenges parents face when raising children. Our parent support groups and workshops are designed to provide you with invaluable tools and strategies to navigate your parenting journey. Some topics covered in our groups and workshops include remaining calm and connected in the face of challenges, improving communication and collaboration with your child, establishing clear and consistent expectations and consequences, and facilitating better decision making.
Our groups and workshops will help you gain insight into your child’s challenges and how they impact their social and emotional development. Parents will have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from other parents facing similar challenges and, most importantly, know they are not alone in their parenting struggles. Our goal is to help parents feel supported and gain confidence in their parenting skills so their child can reach their full potential all while creating a more peaceful and harmonious home environment!
